Research Focus

The Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics is an academic hub for cutting edge bioinformatics research and development that integrates wet lab and in silico work toward the goal of Precision Medicine.

Our research activities are focused primarily on the emerging Precision Medicine approach to healthcare that includes the analysis of data associated with individual’s variability in health data, genes, environment and lifestyle. As such, our key pillars include Omics and Bioinformatics, Big Data Methods & Technology, Medical Informatics. Work in these focus areas is led by our faculty members and supported by a team of professionals with highly developed skills and experience in bioinformatics tools and methods, Health Information Technology, cohort discovery from electronic health records (EHR), analytics and visualization, software and database application development, security and privacy in Big Data, project management and grants/contract development for sustainability.
